“This town is under marshall law. And I’m the marshall” – Megatron

A man in Windsor, Ontario was taken into custody after a three-hour standoff with police, who were called to his home after receiving a 911 call about a man wielding a gun.
After taking the man into custody, it was discovered that the weapon he was pointing at neighbors was an original 1980s Megatron Transformers toy.
“It turns into a Luger. It’s an 80s-style Transformer… He’s had a really bad day,” a friend of the man said. “People are treating him like crap.” The friend did not specify if he was referring to the gunman, or the supreme leader of all Decepticons.

You know, I really hate to be one of “these guys”, but Megatron actually transforms into a Walther P38, not a Luger. Now you know. And knowing…ah, nevermind.
Oh, and by the way – tickets are now on sale for Revenge Of The Fallen. So get yer asses to the box office.

As stated in the press release:
Hasbro, Inc. , Marvel Entertainment, Inc. and Spider-Man Merchandising L.P. announced that Hasbro will retain rights through 2017 to make toys and games based on new Marvel and Columbia Pictures theatrical releases and on Marvel’s globally popular portfolio of Super Hero brands, including franchises such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Avengers, X-Men, Thor and Captain America.
As part of the new agreement (the current agreement runs through 2011), Hasbro will continue to hold the global rights (excluding Japan) to develop products based on Marvel’s globally-known universe of more than 5,000 characters and Spider-Man Merchandising’s film and television properties in a wide range of toy and game categories, including action figures, role play and preschool toys, board games and puzzles. The new agreement covers both the “classic” comic book look of the characters as well as product lines inspired by television and films.
Having been one of the first to report on the initial Hasbro Marvel line when they debut at Comic-Con in 2006 (during the Hasbro Vault Party) I have to say I’m happy to hear the contract has been extended. The initial line still needed some polishing but it has been great to see Hasbro perfect the process more and more over the past 3 years. Toy Biz wasn’t able to do it overnight. It was something that took years to perfect. Hasbro has done a good job bringing us figures that have only gotten better and better. Oh, and lets not forget the innovative ideas that they also brought to us i.e.- Marvel Heroes, Mighty Mugz and Marvel based Transformers. When something is done right it just makes it so much fun to be a toy collector. Now I’m sure that there’s that one Marvel Legends collector out there that still complains, “it’ll never be as good as the old Toy Biz days”. To that guy I say- get a life and move out of your parent’s house.
