Hell Freezes Over: Ridley Scott returns to direct ALIEN prequel

In a stunning turn of events, FOX wants someone GOOD to bring dignity back to the Alien series.
And that man is its original director, Ridley Scott.
Variety reports that Twentieth Century Fox has hired Jon Spaihts to write and has some how convinced Ridley Scott to come back for another go around. The movie is tentatively set to be a PREQUAL, disguised as a reboot for the franchise. This after Fox didn’t heed the warning years ago from Alien director alumni Scott and James Cameron to not pursue an ALIEN vs PREDATOR film. They ignored the warning and hired the cinematic equivalent of a semi soft penis, but all around nice guy, Paul W.S. Anderson to write and direct THAT film. In the end AVP made money, and a bloodier, but just as equally suck ass sequel was made.
The consensus was that both properties were DOA after that, but there’s still a hint of a demand for more movies from each franchise, but no more cross overs, and at least be GOOD!
Now, Robert Rodriguez is producing a Predator “reboot” and it seems that Alien is full steam ahead. With Scott at helm, there’s…hope, that lightning can be caught twice in a bottle.
